As fall temperatures begin to descend on the Triangle, we’ll revisit one of our longer walking tours in Holly Springs. We’ll start the tour at Bombshell Beer Co., the state’s first women-owned brewery, where we’ll sample several beers. This time of year, there will certainly be an ACC football game on the big screens.

Next, we’ll walk about a mile through downtown Holly Springs to Local Time Brewing, located in the town’s thriving downtown area. Along the way, we’ll stop at two pre-Civil War historic sites to discover more about the history of Holly Springs and what makes this such a vibrant small community today. After our beer sampling is over, you may choose to hang out a bit at the restaurants and shops downtown.

Date and time: Sept. 20, 1-3:30 pm

Starting location: Bombshell Beer Co., 120 Quantum St, Holly Springs

Cost and what’s included: $52 per person, ticket sales through People First Tourism. Includes beer tasting at two breweries and tips for bartenders. (Note: Guide tips are NOT included.)

Need to know: You must be 21 to participate. Tour is rain or shine. Wear good shoes for walking and clothing appropriate for the weather.

Do you know what historical figure said this, “Hops is a wicked and pernicious weed”? This is one of our beer quiz questions that you’ll hear along the tour. Find out the answer, and you’ll be able to correctly answer at least one of the questions!
